Musciato refused to answer why he required such an abundance of lemons for the year to come, but it was quickly made clear that he had an obsession with citrus fruits that perhaps overrode his love of mathematics.
“It was really a better reaction than I ever could have hoped for,” Williams said.
“He ripped off factors, canceled like terms in his numerator and denominator … and let me say, his denominator was not bad at all.”
“Not knowing what else to do, I wandered into Lunt Hall, found an empty office, and just set up shop. The rest took care of itself.”
Class suck up and economics major Margo Sanders commented, “Every time I ask him questions, he scribbles illegibly on the board, and shrugs his shoulders as if I magically understand his hieroglyphics.”
Earlier today, the Northwestern mathematics department revealed that, due to budget shortfalls, funding for both mathematics research and mathematicians themselves would be cut.
By week four, Justin was beginning to point out flaws in the grad student’s handwriting.
“This number, called ‘dag,’ will be somewhere in between seven and eight. We don’t really know yet,” said Dr. Jared Wunsch, Math Department Chair.
