Ask Flippy: Is your OF content ethically sourced? I want to goon ethically

Dear Flippy,

Hiiiiiiiii, so not long ago, a friend (I won’t name names but he shares a name with Dora’s cousin) told me you had an OF account, and, well, I’m all for that. I’m very into supporting small businesses, you see. It’s a shame that content is monopolized by only a few different figures and companies, and I try to support small creators when I can. However, I also need to be sure that you don’t use AI, that everyone involved in the production is fully consenting, and that you aren’t promoting harmful stereotypes in your content. Please reply–I want to give you my money!

Sincerely, Ethical Gooner

Dear Ethical Gooner,

Your concern for the morality of the “goonconomy” (as I like to call it) is admirable. I’ll be upfront, Dora’s cousin lied, I do not have an OF. However, your mentions of the moral quandaries inherent to the goonconomy are thought-provoking, so I’ll play ball. Firstly, I’ll ask you to remember that there is no truly ethical consumption “content” and that even small creators are still participating in a system that increases the inequality/exploitation that hides this industry from oversight. It suffocates those it takes advantage of who are trying to exact change at the grander level, buried by a number of interconnected goonbait systems. Not to mention that the contributions of any given individual are also diluted by such a large and insurmountable web of repression. As a general rule, supporting small creators like you are keeps support away from industry giants, but at the end of the day it still supports an evil industry. best. So, stay woke and keep on supporting your local businesses (so long as they themselves are ethical), comrade. The goonvolution is coming.

Sincerely, Flippy
