Erm… did that just happen? I genuinely can’t believe that just happened. I’ve been watching the Oscars livestream on Internet Explorer, so it’s been buffering a little bit. It’s just really crazy that he would opt to do such a thing live on television, and on the biggest night in Hollywood no less… Millions of Americans were watching. Chris Rock could have been seriously hurt or even killed. Oh my God, we need to do something about this.

How am I supposed to go on from here pretending that everything’s just fine and normal? I have work tomorrow morning and laundry to do and mail bearing the seal of the IRS that I must answer. God, it feels like everything’s falling apart. We have all of these people acting like lunatics, and for some reason everyone else is content with pretending that their behavior is totally normal. Why is literally no one talking about this? We need to be talking about this. What happened to our American value system? Our rule of law? I can’t afford any more destabilization in my life right now. I think I’ll go take a walk downtown — my usual route past the Twin Towers. Clear my head a little bit.
