Professor: Okay. Sent from my iPhone.
EVANSTON – A professor allegedly responded to a student’s email by sending her an email that only said “Okay. Sent from my iPhone.”
Renee Olstead’s, WCAS ’18, European History professor supposedly responded to her lengthy email regarding a her topic for paper simply with “Okay. Sent from my iPhone.” Olstead said that she deduced the email was sent from the professor’s iPhone.
Other students who take the professor’s class supposedly received similar responses when they emailed the professor. Alex Young, MSJ ’19, reported that the professor sent him a one-word response after he asked the professor to check his thesis statement. “I wrote him so that he could check my work so far and give me constructive criticism going forward. However, I think he skimmed it in the morning and sent me a response that just said ‘Fine. Sent from my iPhone.’”
Olstead reportedly wrote her professor a lengthy email asking him if he thought that she should write a paper on the complexities of serfdom. Olstead allegedly wrote paragraph after paragraph detailing the direction she will take with paper and a list of possible sources, sorted by relevance. “I really wanted to explain everything about my paper so that my professor could visualize the picture in his head. I hoped he would offer commentary on my idea so far.”
Reporters tried to contact the professor in question. However, the professor’s only statement was “No. Sent from my iPhone.”
